The Electrochemical Power Sources Group at University of Kentucky Center for Applied Energy Research (UK-CAER) develops energy storage materials for primary and secondary batteries, electrochemical capacitors, and redox flow batteries. Current research activities include the development of fluorinated spherical carbons for Li/CFx cathodes, activated spherical carbons for electrochemical capacitors and Li/S cathodes, and low cost electrolytes based on abundant metals for redox flow batteries.
