Best Practices for EV Cell Testing
In this webinar, we will begin with an overview of the typical structure of automotive EV programs, along with how the APQP phase gate process aligns to the key milestones of Automotive Component Verification (DVP & PVP) validation plans. Key considerations for testing progress tracking, reporting and the range of different tools and strategies will be discussed. This includes the importance of rigorous test procedure definition and equipment set-up verification to ensure highest quality data and reporting. A review the relevant standards will be presented along with examples of OEM specific testing areas. We conclude with a summary of the best practices our team has developed thru our EV testing programs conducted at Energy Assurance LLC’s Hopkinton test facility.
This webinar will focus on the following key topics:
• Typical EV program structure overview and APQP process
• Effective reporting and communication strategies
• Procedure definition and development
• Ensuring proper test set-up preparation and execution
• EV relevant testing standards and customer specific testingPresenter

Augment Your Battery Research With Non-Ambient In Operando XRD
Recently, in operando research on batteries with XRD system in room temperature has provided great understanding on the dynamic migration of the electrode materials during the charge cycle. However, a battery may work perfectly at ambient temperature, but actual environment may cause unexpected performance degradation and safety risks. To investigate battery stability under non-ambient conditions, we are introducing 2 variable temperature electrochemical cell (VTEC) battery stages with heating and cooling feature between -10°C and 70°C on the Empyrean XRD platform. In combination with comprehensive instruments control software and powerful data visualization and analysis tools made for large XRD datasets in HighScore Plus, we provide the most advanced in operando in situ solutions to accelerate your battery research.
This webinar will focus on the following key topics:
• Advanced non-ambient in operando studies on batteries with Empyrean XRD system
• Synergy amongst potentiostat, Empyrean and temperature controller
• Fully automated data analysis with HighScore Plus
o electrode phase identification and quantification
o crystal structure and defects analysis
o cluster analysis
o intuitive and powerful visualization tools made for in-operando experimentsPresenter

Comprehensive Analysis of Degraded PE Fuel Cells by Durability Tests
As a sustainable power source for automobiles, PEFC (Polymer Electrolyte Fuel Cells) have been investigated for further improvement of their durability. In general, the degradation of PEFCs is caused by various factors under operation. Thus, a comprehensive analysis is required to understand these important degradation factors.
This presentation will share evaluation by multi-analysis method of degraded PEFCs after their cycling. It was found that Si was contaminated in the cathode catalyst layer, and that Pt particles were enlarged in the cathode catalyst layer near the cathode gas outlet area. In addition, it was found that the degradation of the ionomer was more likely to occur near the cathode gas inlet area.
This webinar will focus on the following key topics:
• Polymer electrolyte fuel cells (PEFCs)
• Durability test
• Ionomer
• Comprehensive degradation analysisPresenter
